Introduction

The data physicalization project investigates the health-conscious dietary choices of college students, taking into account challenging factors such as socio-economic status, mental and physical well-being. This project aims to help people comprehend the intricate reasons behind prevalent unhealthy eating behaviors and raises questions about whether budget constraints necessarily correlate with healthy eating.

Context

As a college undergrad, I often witness my peers having unhealthy eating behaviors resulted in poor physical and mental health...

Hypothesis: College students with higher food budgets are more likely to prioritize healthier eating habits?

Analyzing Data

After drafted questionnaire in Google Forms and sent to target demographic via social media, we analyzed the data through color codes, distribution graph, and pie charts.

To delve into the insights supporting our hypothesis, we emphasized the correlation between food budget and the frequency of unhealthy eating. We analyzed whether the methods of acquiring food play a significant role in influencing our hypothesis.

Visualizing Data

To make the data more interoperable, I made the data visualization to show the underlying reasons for unhealthy eat and its effect on body.

Ideation

We wanted to explore the concept of Data Edibilization. Representing food with data allows participants to have sensory experience, that is more effective than intangible charts
